2026 International Conference on Vehicle Engineering and Intelligent Control (VEIC 2026) Concludes Successfully in Hefei

On June 29, 2026, the 2026 International Conference on Vehicle Engineering and Intelligent Control (VEIC 2026) was successfully held in Hefei, Anhui. The conference was jointly hosted by Anhui University of Science and Technology and the Technical Committee on Hybrid Intelligence, Chinese Association of Automation, and organized by the School of New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles, Anhui University of Science and Technology. It was supported by ten universities: Southwest University, Hefei University of Technology, Henan University of Science and Technology, Xihua University, Anhui Polytechnic University, Hebei University of Engineering, Anqing Normal University, Chuzhou University, Bengbu University, and Guilin University of Aerospace Technology. Experts, scholars, researchers, and young students from many domestic and international universities, research institutes, and enterprises gathered to exchange in-depth ideas on cutting-edge research in vehicle engineering and intelligent control.

Opening Ceremony: A Gathering of Distinguished Guests

On the morning of June 29, the conference officially opened in the Rome Hall on the first floor of Hefei Beicheng Fumao Garden Hotel. The opening ceremony was chaired by Dean Qian Demeng of the School of New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles, Anhui University of Science and Technology.

Four distinguished guests delivered addresses. Professor Zhao Guangming, Vice President of Anhui University of Science and Technology, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the host, extending a warm welcome to all participants. He introduced the university’s disciplinary development and achievements in the field of new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, and emphasized that the university will continue to deepen industry-education integration to contribute to the high-quality development of China’s automotive industry.

Academician You He, Professor at Naval Aeronautical University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out in his address that against the backdrop of the global “dual carbon” goals and the intelligent upgrading of transportation, the integration and innovation of vehicle engineering and intelligent control are facing unprecedented opportunities. He fully affirmed the significance of this conference in promoting interdisciplinary and industry-academia-research collaboration, and encouraged young scholars to strive for scientific excellence.

Professor Suleman Mazhal from Harbin Engineering University noted in his speech that vehicle engineering and intelligent control are frontier areas of great international academic interest. He expressed his hope that the conference would further strengthen Sino-foreign academic exchanges and cooperation, jointly promoting innovative development in this field.

Mr. Wu Xiaodong, Secretary-General of the Anhui New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Development Association, stated in his address that Anhui is making every effort to build an internationally competitive new energy vehicle industrial cluster. The Association will continue to serve as a bridge to promote collaborative synergy among government, industry, academia, research, and application, injecting new momentum into industrial development.


Keynote Speeches: Focusing on Frontiers and Sparking Ideas

Following the opening ceremony, chaired by Professor KunminZhao, a national-level talent of Anhui University of Science and Technology, four leading experts delivered keynote speeches.

AcademicianYou He, Naval Aeronautical University, presented a speech titled“Frontiers in the Development of Intelligent Unmanned Systems,” systematically elaborating on the latest progress and future trends in intelligent unmanned systems.

ProfessorJianru Xue, Xi’an Jiaotong University and recipient of the National Major Talent Project, delivered a speech entitled“A Preliminary Study on Safe and Trustworthy Embodied Behavior Policy Learning Methods,” sharing cutting-edge explorations in the field of safe and trustworthy embodied intelligence.

ProfessorGuanghui Wen, Southeast University and a national-level talent, gave a speech on“Distributed Optimization and Game in Swarm Embodied Intelligence,” providing an in-depth analysis of optimization and game problems in swarm intelligence systems.

Chief EngineerGuodong Li of Zhejiang Xinke Transmission Technology Co., Ltd., also a national-level talent, focused on“Research on Integrated Control and Key Liquid Cooling Technologies of New Energy Vehicle Powertrain” (presented by Mr. Fu Junjie on behalf of the speaker), introducing the latest engineering practice achievements in the field of new energy vehicle powertrains.

 


On the afternoon of June 29, the oral presentation session brought together young researchers from leading institutions, including the University of Tokyo, Hefei University of Technology, Anhui University of Science and Technology, Beijing University of Technology, Anqing Normal University, Anhui Polytechnic University, and Anhui Science and Technology University. Their presentations covered a broad spectrum of emerging topics at the intersection of vehicle engineering and intelligent control, such as user acceptance modeling for autonomous driving, multiactuator coordination for flexible intelligent chassis, offroad path planning, AIdriven battery state estimation, modeswitching optimization for hydrogen fuel cell electric drive systems, faulttolerant control under steering failure, perception system diagnostics and resilience enhancement, key technologies for highlevel autonomous driving, and multivehicle cooperative perception for improved safety.

 

Against the global “dual carbon” goals and the intelligent upgrading of transportation, the integration and innovation of vehicle engineering and intelligent control are embracing unprecedented opportunities. The successful holding of this conference not only provided a highend platform for domestic and international scholars to engage in deep exchanges and collision of ideas, but also effectively promoted crossdisciplinary and crossinstitutional cooperation in these fields. Looking ahead, we hope to continue leveraging the disciplinary advantages of Anhui University of Science and Technology in new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, work with partners from all sectors, and continuously build a highlevel, international academic exchange brand, contributing wisdom and strength to the innovative development of vehicle engineering and intelligent control technologies in China and around the world.
